Texas GRiT
GRiT Coaches, Ambassadors, and Junior Ambassadors (collectively called GRiT Leaders) are role models who organize, support and encourage other female student-athletes to find joy and empowerment through cycling. They are always thinking about ways to bring more girls into the sport, and particularly girls from all races, geographic regions, and socio-economic backgrounds. GRiT Leaders promote inclusion and are full of stoke for cycling. They are also welcoming, positive, supportive, kind and passionate about life.

#MOREKIDSONBIKES
This is by far my favorite hashtag to use on social media posts.
It’s almost always paired with a photo of a kid on their bike doing something amazing. Big jumps and drops, conquering technical climbs, or making a mad sprint to the finish line. But it’s not the athleticism that makes it my favorite hashtag - although that is certainly not nothing.
No, these photos never cease to impress me not just because of what you see in that photo, but because of what they represent - a community that surrounds them with support and brings families and friends together both on and off the bike.
This, to me, is what #morekidsonbikes is all about and why I am so passionate about organizations like NICA and the Texas Mountain Bike League.
Barber Hills Hard Labor
Hard labor was a well suited name for this race. Yet another weekend filled with muddy riding.
Never ridden in the mud? Think sand, but slippery and it stays on your bike making it heavier and harder to pedal. None the less the rider went to battle with the elements, and so did I.
Hill County Downhill Winter Series Race 2
Hill County Downhill Winter Series Race number two photos are live! Rain, mud, and really dang good lighting made for a great gallery.
2024 Bluff Creek Ranch, Wrangle in Warda Pre-Ride
New video!
We sent two of the NICA student advisory cabinet members, Thomas and Noah out for a course pre-ride and jumped in on the fun! This is the best commentary on this side of the barbed wire! Yes, the trails were terribly muddy - The Texas MTB League wound up cutting out much of the course to help preserve as much trail as they could and also got a group together to help fix the trails the following weekend.
Dance Hall Dual Slalom
Pictures from the team Trail Party Dance Hall Dual Slalom are live! So please be sure to check out the gallery and share your favorites on social! Big thanks to the trail party team for yet another weekend of epic racing and Kyle and Rachel Straight for joining out Texas MTB family for a weekend of slalom!
What’s in the Bag?
If there’s one thing that all photographers have in common - whether you’re into action sports or portraits, hobbyist or pro - it’s an addiction to our gear. In the same way that having the right bike for the right trail can drastically change the way you ride that trail, having the right camera gear for the job can mean the difference between taking a couple of good shots and leaving with an SD card or two full of great photos.
When Opportunity Responds to Your Instagram Story
There you were. Just minding your own business, trying to get some work done or maybe trying to wind down after a long day, and it happens.
*DING* A new instagram notification!
It’s Me Again, Margaret.
When you read that title, I bet you heard the voice of Ray Stevens in your mind. Moreover, I’d be willing to bet that somewhere in your brain, you were taken back to a specific moment in your life when you listened to the song. Maybe you were in the car with your dad or cruising through the streets with your friends in the middle of the night. having entirely too much fun mimicking Ray Stevens’ raspy laugh as Willard McBane torments poor Margaret.
A Change of Scenery at Angel Fire
For almost as long as I have been mountain biking, and especially since I started photography, I have been determined to one day explore the Angel Fire Bike Park. This year, I was finally able to make that dream a reality and loaded up my bike, my camera, and all my camping gear to make the ten-hour drive to the MTB wonderland.
DFW Series Racing
Who doesn’t love the excitement of race day? The rush of adrenaline, the anticipation of testing your skills against other racers, and the satisfaction of seeing all your hard work pay off as you fly through the course. Whether you are aiming for a podium or racing to push yourself to your limits, there’s nothing else quite like race day.
The Adventure Starts Here
The concept of adventure can hold different meanings for each individual. Sure, we may not be slaying dragons or rescuing damsels in distress, but we still crave a bit of excitement in our lives, a way to broaden our own horizons and see what the world has to offer. Some folks might satisfy that urge by jetting off to foreign countries, while others might try a new hobby or new career.
This urge to explore new places, try new things, and connect with new people is a fundamental part of our lives and a fundamental part of Red Family Photo, my personal adventure.
