2024 Fort Worth Bike Fest, Here We Come!

The 2024 Fort Worth Bike Fest at Gateway Park is just a few days away, and I wanted to share a glimpse of the past couple of years with some of my favorite images from past Bike Fests. This event is very special to me as not only is it right here in my hometown, but – a little-known fact – it kind of started from a conversation I had after attending Bentonville Bikefest (I’m super original, I know).

The idea boiled down to “Hey, Bentonville Bike Fest was a lot of fun, but it’s kind of a long drive from Fort Worth. Wouldn’t it be cool to have one closer?”

To be clear, my involvement in getting this idea off the ground was pitching it to the right two people: Romain Taupier of Trek Bikes DFW and Michele Kahne of the Fort Worth Mountain Bike Association (FWMBA). They are the people who brought the idea to life. Without their tireless efforts and commitment to building the MTB community in Dallas-Fort Worth, the annual event simply would not have grown to what it is today, or even gotten off the ground.

What is Bike Fest?

The goal is simple – one day filled with everything that makes bikes fun. Racing, group rides, jump jams, and (most importantly) TACOS! Brought to none other than Taco Daddy himself. If you don't know who Taco Daddy is, his real name is Angel Fuentes and he’s the owner-operator of a small taco shop called Guapo Taco, which Texas Monthly named one of the best places to buy tacos in the Lone Star State. After you have tried his tacos, you will understand why.

You can also expect a bit of epic racing at Bike Fest, brought to you by the DFW Series Racing and Shawn McAfee.

Since Fort Worth Bike Fest started in 2022, it’s only gotten bigger every year. This year is looking to be no different. More games are planned with more prizes up for grabs, and more local vendors have joined to help the event raise money for a great cause.

A few of the vendors that are on board to be a part of this year’s event are:

Ride Dirt Shirt Co

As the company's name suggests, Ride Dirt Shirt Co is a mountain biker-owned company that specializes in printing custom T-shirts, jerseys, hoodies, hats, you name it. Those shirts you get for registering for 2024 Bike Fest? Yep, they are the people making them.

Pedal Kids USA

You all know how much I love getting #morekidsonbikes. Well, these people are even more passionate about it than I am. Pedal Kids USA offers cycling classes, camps, and private instruction for kids from 2 to 12 years old. With them at Bike Fest, I imagine any kids who come are in for the day of their little life.

Come Join the Fun

Bikes build communities. And to all the people and organizations mentioned in this post – as well as those who weren’t mentioned by name – thank you for what you do to make this happen.

Register for the 2024 Fort Worth Bike Fest here to join in on the biggest day of biking in all of Fort Worth!
